ABOUT SHIVANI VYASDESIGNER. Indian. Organization Maniac. FOREVER PREPPY. Classic.WRITER.
Welcome! I’m Shivani, an interior design nerd at heart, celebrating Southern life here in Macon, Georgia. I’m so happy you’re here and it’s great to “e-meet” you, friend. To tell you a bit about myself, I’ll start with how I spend most of time. First, I’m an interior design writer for Better Homes & Gardens, where I cover everything from the latest design news, insider tips, and trends you won’t want to miss! I also serve as the Associate Principal, alongside Meredith McKenzie at The Selective Design, a boutique interior design studio based in Macon, Georgia. We specialize in crafting classic interiors that seamlessly blend timeless elegance with modern functionality. Meredith and I also co-write our very own interior design column for Macon Magazine (Carrie Bradshaw vibes, anyone!?). Additionally, I contribute to Georgia Design(formerly known as Atlanta Magazine) in their spring, fall and winter print issues.
I’ve been honored as one of the Top 123 Interior Design Experts by Fixr for three consecutive years (2023, 2024, and 2025), and recently recognized as one of the Top 10 Interior Design Journalists Shaping Trends in 2025 by Decorilla. I’ve also been featured in People, Real Homes, Homes & Gardens, Apartment Therapy, Southern Living, Forbes, US News, SPY and Living Etc. My design writing portfolio includes contributions to My Domaine, Family Handyman, Martha Stewart Living,Domino, and The Spruce.
